Barbara Marshall 1989
Barbara Joan Sandison, 51, a Town of Poughkeepsie resident, died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. She was an administrative assistant at the Dutchess County BOCES.
Born July 23, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Jack and Madeline Clum Marshall. She married Richard Sandison.

Leonard T. Heybruck 1991
Leonard T. “Butch” Heybruck, 52, a former teacher in the Arlington Central School District, died Sunday at Hudson River Psychiatric Center in the Town of Poughkeepsie. He taught in the Arlington schools until is retirement in 1973.
He was a former member of the Red Oaks Mill Fire Company and the Mid-County Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic Church in the Town of Poughkeepsie and was active in men’s slow-pitch softball leagues.
He was born in Poughkeepsie on Jan. 30, 1939, the son of Edward T. Heybruck and the former Mary Wright. He graduated from Arlington High School and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the State University of New York College at Albany.
In November of 1967 in Pougkeepsie, he married the former Bonnie Reiner. |

Joan Hart 1994
Joan M. Ferrari, 55, a Town of Hyde Park resident, died Saturday at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Ferrari was a teacher’s assistant for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Poughkeepsie.
She was a past member of the Roosevelt Rescue Squad, Engine Co. 3, in Hyde Park. She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie.
Born Feb. 11, 1939, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Hart, who died in 1956, and Mary Ilene Ballo Hart of Poughkeepsie. She was a 1956 graduate of Arlington High School.
In 1959, at Holy Trinity Church, she married Dominic Ferrari. |

Aileen C. McLaughlin 1994
Aileen C. McLaughlin, 55, a Poughkeepsie resident since 1948, died Wednesday at her home.
Miss McLaughlin was a manager of the secretarial service center at IBM in Poughkeepsie. She retired in 1993 after 36 years.
She was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and of the Catholic faith.
Born Nov. 1, 1938, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Wilcox.

Nancy Howell 1996
Nancy R. Howell-Sanford, 57, a lifelong LaGrange resident, died Saturday at home.
She was a corrections officer at Green Haven Correctional Facility for 13 years and retired in 1983.
Mrs. Howell-Sanford was a coach for the Expos team in the East Fishkill Little League. She was a member of St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Hopewell Junction.
Born on Aug. 21, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Agustas Howell and Helen Reiley Howell. She was a graduate of Arlington High School.
On July 9, 1961, she married Raymond Sanford at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. |

Joyce Lichtenhan 1996
Joyce Mae Lichtenhan Mills Santosky, 58, of Kingston, a former Hyattsville, Md., and LaGrangeville resident, died Saturday at Benedictine Hospital.
Mrs. Santosky worked for First Hudson Valley Bank in Kingston until her death.
Born on May 3, 1938, in Washington , D.C., she was a daughter of Mary T. Tilyou-Lichtenhan and Ralph C. Lichtenhan.
Mrs. Santosky graduated from Arlington High School in 1956. On April 14, 1990, she married Richard Santosky. |

Robert E. Gage 1997
Dr. Robert E. Gage, 59, a dentist and longtime resident of Pleasant Valley, died Monday at home. Dr. Gage was a dentist in Marshfield, Mass., for 12 years. He was a member of the Millbrook Lions Club.
He served as captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and also in the Yankee Division of the Massachusetts National Guard.
He was a graduate of Pennsylvania Military Academy and Tufts University, Med, Mass.
Born in Poughkeepsie on April 21, 1938, he was the son of Robert and Genevieve Davies Gage.
On June 6, 1981, he married Dudlea Heady in Millbrook. |

Stuart MacKenzie 1998
Stuart “Doc” MacKenzie, 59, died Wednesday at home.
He was a truck driver for Dutchess Quarry for 17 years before retiring in 1997. Mr. MacKenzie was a member of Teamsters Local 445.
Born May 26, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, he was a son of Gilbert and Gladys Hall MacKenzie.
He married Betty Sutton on April 12, 1975, in Pleasant Valley. |

John C. Wisseman 1999
John C. Wisseman, 60, a lifetime resident of LaGrangeville, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Mr. Wisseman was employed with Milton Alley Agway of LaGrangeville fo 35 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a lifetime member of Mid County Rod and Gun Club, LaGrangeville, a former member of the Town of Union Vale Recreation Committee, and a member of the Dutchess County Softball Umpires Association.
Born in Union Vale on Aug. 31, 1938, he was the son of Carl and Kathryn Vail Wisseman.
He was a graduate of Arlington High School and Cobleskill Agricultural & Technical Institute.
He married Carol A. Ryan on Aug. 13, 1960 at Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Wisseman died June 19, 1998. |

Robert J. Elmendorf, 62, of Highland, died Friday, Mar. 3, 2000 at Benedictine Hospital, Kingston. Mr. Elmendorf was a City of Poughkeepsie Retired Firefighter.
He was a 28-year Highland resident, formerly of Poughkeepsie. He was a lifetime member of the Poughkeepsie YMCA and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
Born Nov. 1, 1937 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Harry Elmendorf and Madeline Elmendorf. He married Sharyn Real, Apr. 8, 1962, in St. Peters Church. |

Dorothy Lester, 61, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, June 10, 2000 at Wingate at Dutchess.
Mrs. Lester was a manager at IBM Poughkeepsie. She was a member of the Arlington Reformed Church.
Born in Poughkeepsie on Sept. 18, 1938, she was the daughter of Robert and Ruth Bradshaw Horton.

Harold "Hal" Robinson, 68, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Eden Park Health Care Center in Poughkeepsie.
Mr. Robinson worked at the Grand Union in Highland and was a member of A.A.
Born in Poughkeepsie on Jan. 25, 1938, he was a son of Otis Robinson and Luella Barret. He graduated from Arlington Schools. |

Mildred Woodin Bishop, formerly of Pleasant Valley, NY died suddenly May 11, 2006 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, FL. Mrs. Bishop was a resident of Coquina Crossing in Elkton, FL for the past two years.
She was born December 30, 1937 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Mildred Halstead Woodin and William James Woodin, Sr.
Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker for many years and then was employed by the Arlington Central School District for 21 years in the cafeterias of area schools. She graduated from the Hudson Valley School of Beauty and Culture in Newburgh, NY.
She married Charles Bishop in 1957 in Poughkeepsie. |

Alfred Hamilton Emery, Jr., 68, a lifelong area resident died Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Poughkeepsie on May 11, 1938, he was the son of Alfred Hamilton Emery, Sr. and Violet Conner.
Mr. Emery was a graduate of Arlington High School in 1956 and earned his A.A.S in Mechanical Technology in 1958 from Westchester Community College
On April 3, 1966 Al married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Stoll.

Margaret Maher 2008
HIGHLAND - Margaret M. Clippert, age 69, of Highland, died Tuesday, August 7, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born Margaret Mary Maher on September 22, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, NY; the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Pelew) Maher, who resided in Pleasant Valley, NY. Margaret attended Arlington High School and graduated in 1956. Margaret resided in Highland, NY. Later in life, she attended Ulster County Community College and earned an Associate's Degree in Horticulture. She was very devoted to her family and her love for gardening. She volunteered her knowledge, time and efforts to many community and civil duties such as serving on the local election committee for many years. Margaret married Sylvester R. Taliaferro, Jr., who passed away December 15, 1963. She then married Richard G. Clippert, who currently resides in Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine, NY. |

David J. Traver 2008
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - David J. Traver, a native of Pleasant Valley, died Sept. 20, 2008 at his home in Anchorage, Alaska, he was 72 years old. Born in Poughkeepsie on May 7, 1936, he was a son of James M. and Lavina Foote Traver. Mr. Traver was a graduate of Arlington High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska and later was a civilian worker at the Base until his retirement in 2001. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of the Hillside Baptist Church and a member of the Southcentral Alaska Beard and Moustache Club. On Jan. 15, 1961, he married Louava Sargeant who survives at home. Also surviving are his mother, Lavina Traver of Poughkeepsie; a brother, Donald F. Traver of Pleasant Valley; three children and five grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held on Sept. 25, 2008 at Hillside Baptist Church in Anchorage. |

AMENIA, NY - Virginia "Ginny" K. Stoetzner, , an 11-year resident of Amenia, NY, formerly a longtime resident of Pleasant Valley, NY, died on Friday, May 28, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Stoetzner was a registered nurse at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie retiring in 2000. Born April 7, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Catherine Drury Russell. She was a 1956 graduate of Arlington High School and a 1959 graduate of Benedictine Hospital School of Nursing in Kingston, NY. On March 3, 1961 in Poughkeepsie, NY, she married Ernest L. Stoetzner III who survives at home. Mrs. Stoetzner was a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia and a volunteer with the Vine and Branches Food Pantry. A charter member of the S & B Club, she was also a member of the Amenia Women's Club and a volunteer with the Amenia Library. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ernest L. Stoetzner IV and his wife, Kate, of East Hartland, CT and Eric J. Stoetzner of Amenia, NY; a daughter, Cynthia Cassese and her husband, Martin, of Claverack, NY; a brother, Robert Russell of Fairfield, CA; three granddaughters, Danielle, Gabrielle and Erin Stoetzner. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Martin Russell. |
