Doris grew up in Poughkeepsie and graduated from Arlington High School. She had been employed by the Hudson River State Hospital and the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. Doris had been an avid equestrian and a member of the Pleasant Valley Riding & Driving Club. She was also a 4H group leader in Dutchess County. Doris enjoyed many years as a stay at home mother raising her four daughters, gardening, and taking care of their family home. Doris was a long time member of the Pleasant Plains Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder.

Doris is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years Gordon Sager, Salt Point, NY. Daughters, Sharon Golden and husband Howard Golden of Purchase, NY and three grandchildren. Daughter, Patricia Aresco and husband Wayne of Litchfield, CT. Daughter, Laura Sager and partner William Milroy of Ghent, NY. Daughter, Jill Sager of Weehawken, New Jersey. Doris is survived by her brothers Ronald Davis (wife Kay Davis) of Wappingers Falls. Brother, Harvey Davis of Poughkeepsie, NY. Doris is survived by many nieces and nephews.
